How To Create An Account?

On the Kumlink page, Click on the icon with REGISTER under it and a sign up page will be displayed on your screen. kindly input your details as required(Full Name, Email Address, Phone Number, and create a Password you can easily remember.
Please note that your password must me minimum of 6 characters.

How To Login into Your Account?

Click on the icon with login under it and enter your registered mobile number or email, and your password then click on ‘login button’. If you had use the device to purchase a product at least once, your login details would have been saved and you won’t be required to login again unless you initilaly logged out.

Where Can I See My Transaction Records?

All transactions carried out on the platform are always saved on your kumlink account. Login or create an account, then click on the button 'View Transactions' on the dashboard.
On the Transaction record table, a list of your transaction and the date of your transaction will be displayed.
The displayed transactions can be sorted by clicking on anywhere on the table header or by typing any keyword on the search field.

What Happens If My Card (Verve, Visa, MasterCard) Doesn't Work?

Kindly register your card for online transactions. There is a 90% chance your card would work. However, you could also pay with bank. On the payment page, click on ‘pay with bank’ select your bank name and fill in the required information. Some banks will require you to provide your account number.
Check to be sure you filled in the required card information (Card number, CVV- last three digits behind your card, Expiry date- month and year) correctly.
If you do not have any restrictions from your bank, Try with a different browser or device.
You could also select the USSD/bank transfer payment option. Select your bank name and provide the required information.

I Did Not Receive My Token Via SMS, What Can I Do?

Token is ALWAYS sent to you via SMS. But sometimes, due to network issues which is beyond our control and totally dependent on the Telecommunication companies, or if your mobile was unavailable at that particular moment the SMS was sent out, or your number has been registered do not disturb, you might not receive the SMS.
The token is also sent via email. The token and other details of the transaction are sent to your email after transaction is complete.
You can also access your tokens by clicking on " View Transactions" on the dashboard. In the Transaction History table displayed, click on the "View" button to access your tokens. On the transaction details page, you would also see other details of the transaction on there.

How Do I Access My Tokens?

Your token is sent through SMS, Email and saved on your account as transactions.

Why Do I Have To Pay Convenience Fee?

The service charge is a composition of stamp duty charge levied by CBN and switching cost (switching means to move your money from your bank to the recipient's Bank account). These charges are required to make online transactions possible.

FAQs On Meter

I Want To Edit The Name On My Meter Number.

The name and address displayed is same one registered on the distribution company’s system. Kindly visit the nearest electricity distribution company office to edit this information on your meter.

Why Do I Have A Debt On My Meter?

Debt on a meter can occur for several reasons:
The cost for the units on a newly installed meter is paid by the customer (as debt) on their first recharge of the meter.
Migration of Previous Debt: If the property used an analog meter before the installation of a Prepaid meter, or using the estimated billing (Postpaid) and there was a debt before the installation of the prepaid meter, the debt on the estimated (Postpaid) billing account is migrated to the Prepaid meter account.
Penalties: If there was a bypass or illegal connection discovered in the house, the penalty charge is added as debt to the prepaid meter account.
Kindly visit the nearest electricity distribution company office to discuss your debt profile. As all meters are domiciled with them.

I Can’t Load My Token

Here is a standard process you can follow:
Ensure there is power supply in your area. Confirm the phase you are on has power supply; Put off generators and inverters and change over to power supply; Key in the numbers you received as token and Click on the “Enter” button it could be green or red.
Link errors- Insert new batteries in the space provided at the back of the keypad to power on the device. If the device does not come on, press 3 to power up the battery.
Step 1- Plug the keypads preferable to a wall socket used for your freezer or cooker (13Amps), and ensure the switch is on.
Step 2 -If you still have units on your meter, when there is power supply, plug the Keypad to a wall socket.
Step 3- Key in 5258 instead of the first four-meter digits followed by the consecutive meter digits while omitting the last digit of the meter. I.e. 01011607946 then becomes 5258160794. Then press Send (blue or red button as the case may be).
Step 4- Load the token over again after the above has been done.

Why Did My Meter Reject The Token?

This could happen as a result of the following reasons:
The purchase was for the wrong meter number. Kindly confirm you are loading the token on the right meter.
The meter has not yet been activated- An activation code will be required from the distribution company.
There has been a change in your tariff index.

I Bought For A Wrong Meter Number.

A token is generated and encrypted using the unique ID of the prepaid meter number. This is to ensure that token generated can only be used by the specific meter number it was vended on.
You can only load the token digits for the meter number you purchased for. Hence, please confirm your meter number before going ahead to vend.

Can I Load The Token I Purchased On Another Prepaid Meter?

Right now, this is not possible. Token is generated and encrypted using the unique ID of the meter. This is to ensure that token generated can only be used by the specific meter.

My Meter is Dispensing Fast.

All prepaid meter token is generated from one central server both for online payments and the vending office. There is no difference buying online. Please turn off all appliances when not in use as appliances left on standby can still utilize about 20% or more of normal electricity. Also, use energy saver light bulbs.
Kindly contact a Meter Engineer as this could be as a result of the following:
High consumption
Electricity theft
Leakage

When I Loaded The Token, I Got A Response Used But Still Don’t Have Power Supply.

A token can only be utilized by a specific meter number. Used simply means, the token has already been loaded on the meter.
Ensure there is power supply in your area. Confirm the phase you are on, has power supply. Put off generators and inverters and do a change over to confirm power supply.
This could also be as a result of technical Fault or loss of phase and Meter entering tamper mode.

Can I Cancel My Token And Get A Refund?

Right now, this is not possible. A token can’t be cancelled. Refund is only possible if a token has not yet been processed.

How Long Before My Token Expires?

Validity period for a token is 3 months. However, Meters with series 021, 01011 have to load the first token generated before loading another token.

When I Loaded My Token, I Got A Response 'Old'

Implies that the meter has timed out the token (it has expired) Meter with series 021, 01011 have to load the first token generated before purchasing or loading another token.

The Number of Units I Got Was Lesser.

It could be as a result of the following:
There is a possibility that a debt has been migrated on your meter, kindly check your token details for any debt deductions.
If the previous payment was inclusive of free units. Kindly check your token details.
It could also mean your tariff plan index has been changed.

I Bought The Same Amount For Two Meters But Got Different Number Of Units.

It could be as a result of the following:
Prepaid meters are charged at different tariff rates. Residential R1, commercial meter, industrial, etc are all charged differently.
Kindly check your token details if free units were included on the previous purchase.
The tariff plan index might have been changed.

Got A Response Meter Is Invalid.

It is possible you omitted a digit in the meter number, confirm your number entry. A meter number is an eleven (11) or thirteen (13) digit number. You can get your meter number on your previous receipt of purchase from the Distribution Company or on the meter itself.
To do this on the meter itself, input the number 65 using the keypad and press (the red button or the button with the # sign or the sky-blue button).
Mojec Meters starting with 541/0215 series, press: 86 or 10 respectively.
Momas Meters starting with 621 series, press: 804
Conlog Meters starting with 041/042 series, press: #4#
Turbo Energy(L&G) meters starting with 070, 071 & 072, for single phase series, press: i025.
